Brain Dead Presents Dreamy Psychedelic Hues for Spring Summer 2019 Collection

Brain Dead was first conceived after its founders Kyle Ng and Ed Davis connected online. It was from their first conversation that the unlikely duo found that they shared similar interests and a passion for the unconventional - naturally forming the foundations of Brain Dead - a means of expression for a collective of creatives and designers from around the world.

The brand takes a graphic-heavy approach leaving room for expression, Davis reveals, "The graphic tee is one of the greatest outlets you can have: it’s pretty much just a walking poster and you can put whatever you want on it.". Its concept focuses on the discussion and development between the creatives and to engage with communities, resulting in designs that are made purely out of their own interests, Kyle reveals in an interview with Grailed, “Ed Davis and I created [Brain Dead] with the idea that it could be a sandbox where we could create and explore ideas in all facets of culture,”, the room for shared expression is further emphasized in their motto  "Brain Dead is not one person, nor is it one idea. It sits in the space between people.".

The brand's success is largely due to the collective's freedom to communicate and express their passion, allowing the brand to remain culturally relevant through its strong visuals and off-beat prints. They take inspiration from subcultures, underground comic books, skateboarding and Post-Punk, "All the stuff I usually wear goes back to my lifestyle, whether that’s skateboarding or reading comic books. T-shirts have always been a way to convey ideas. It’s like a billboard for who you are." reveals Kyle.

The Spring/Summer 2019 collection features a range of graphic hoodies, tees, sweaters and jackets in washed out vintage styles. Key items combine pastel hues with psychedelic marbling, watercolor paint splatters and faded dyes.
