Timeless and essential wardrobe pieces for this Black Friday!

Many fashion labels have come out releasing banger after banger this winter season with brands like Brain Dead, PAM, Pleasures, CLOT, Readymade and more leading the charge. At JUICE we have conducted a mix of our favourite pieces, consisting of timeless vintage garments to streetwear must-haves, ranging from t-shirts, jackets, pullovers, accessories and many more varieties. The looks’ intention is to brighten up your wardrobe with different aesthetics and styles, as well as to provide some inspiration for the JUICE Black Friday event!

The first look is inspired by the comfort and style of a classic fisherman meshed with tech-wear aesthetics. Consisting of a unique Post Earth Syndrome Fisherman Hat from Brain Dead in an eccentric ‘Yellow’ colorway, coupled with the matching Post Earth Syndrome Scuba Neck Fleece in ‘Navy’. The hat pairs a front PVC patch with its contrasting see-through net and a long visor to create a piece that is above the norm of streetwear culture, the scuba neck fleece complements this with its similar use of PVC patch on the front nylon pocket. Underneath the fleece is from CLOT’s recent fall-winter 2020 collection ‘Corporate Climbing’, named the BD Twill Long Sleeved T-Shirt in ‘Green’, the shirts loose fitting supplements the overall laid-back and cosy style of the outfit. Finally, we finish the outfit with a pair of Converse Converse Chuck 70 Ox lows in a special multi-dimensional colorway.

The second look consists of a more grungy/skater style this winter season, due to such brands as Children of the Discordance and Pleasures which have heavy grunge influence in their designs, as well as other streetwear brands like CLOTTEE, A-Cold-Wall* and Vans. The outfit starts off with the Pleasures Misery Jacket in ‘Olive’, which was inspired by military aesthetics, using quilted-nylon panelling for extra comfort and warmth. The matching t-shirt under the jacket is the Mary Long Sleeved T-Shirt in ‘White’, from CLOTTEE’s Fall Winter Salvation Army Collection. The pants are the timeless Children of the Discordance NY Vintage Custom-Made Patch Denim Jeans in ‘Blue’, the brand has been known to have had skateboard-style inspirations due to the founder’s upbringing in Japan. The Vans UA CAP MASH TO LX in ‘White’ and the newest trend to hit this generation - a Tote Bag from the Converse and A-COLD-WALL* collaboration, finishes off this skater style especially due to the brands deep-rooted stance on skate culture.

These next two looks are inspired by vintage-army aesthetics, as most of the pieces in this look were curated/created in Japan by designers who have an undying passion for old-school garments. Starting off the third look with Yuto Hosokawa’s own brand Readymade and its vintage-inspired Small Shoulder Bag in ‘Olive’, this piece was derived and inspired by old Americana army-wear due to its olive-green colorway and overall design. The Padded Sweatshirt in ‘Olive’ by AMBUSH furthers this as it too seems to be inspired by soldierly style, with its noticeable use of soft olive-green quilted lining and thermal padding. The piece underneath is the CLOT Inner Pullover Thermal Hoodie in ‘Grey’ which adds another dimension of style shifting it slightly away from the military aesthetic. To top off this military aesthetic, the shoes are Converse’s Chuck 70 Gore-Tex Hi with Gore-Tex material being one of the most durable materials in the game.

The fourth look, in this array of inspirations, is representative of a more skater aesthetic mixed with common vintage Japanese fashion. Pairing the multi-colored 7 Cuts Flannel Shirt by Keizo Shimizu’s NEEDLES with an army-inspired ‘olive’-green ‘CSA’ Logo Patchwork T-Shirt. NEEDLES’ style is definitive of American and Japanese fashion culture, repurposing old school vintage pieces into characteristically bold pieces. We end the look with a pair of Converse Chuck 70 BOSEY GTX Hi in ‘Brown’, this silhouette uses a waterproof canvas material throughout the uppers and a GORE-TEX lining with the classic Chuck Taylor look.

Taken from many brands, these final three looks of clothing will give a unique perspective on new ways to style your garments be-it hip-hop, grunge, or skate-style, you will be able to see a fusion of the latter.

The first of the three starting with British street headwear label Kangol’s Washed Baseball Cap from it’s Fall Winter collection, this piece is smooth in its construction as it goes with any outfit or style. For the upper of this look, we styled together HIDEAWAY @ SUITE X’s Skull Fly T-Shirt in ‘White’ with a comfortable and loose-fitted Thick Plaid Baseball Shirt from CLOT. The bottoms of this look was chosen based on its contrasting colors, yet matching style due to the technical design of the Carpenter Pants in ‘Green’ from Emotionally Unavailable’s collection.

The second last look of this winter mix features Kangol’s signature bucket hat, the Furgora Casual in ‘Black’, which caters to the likings of hip-hop heads to its inspiring take on such an influential piece. Matched with the P.A.M. (Perks And Mini) Dr. Octagon Knitted Jumper in ‘Purple’ creating a more baggy loose-fitting hip-hop aesthetic. This already iconic combo of a bucket hat and baggy sweater can be seen on many rappers and streetwear heads alike, plus the use of Vans UA SUPER COMFYCUSH ERA reminiscent of the quintessential Vans Pro Era shoes which have a significant place in skateboarding culture.

The final look features more grungy looks with an all-black attire, from the Numb Bucket Hat in ‘Black’ by Pleasures with its roughed-up discoloration style to the ‘Black’ Cover Hoodie by P.A.M, which uses a grey tie-dye graphic at the lower end of the garment. To tie the whole fit together, we used the matching CLOT's ‘Black’ Painter Pants in comfortable wool fabrics creating a more softer feel to the already rough and grunge aesthetic.
